If I were asked for the main reason I tutor, I would say that it was because I was once a beginning writer and I know how big of a struggle it can be. I also know how it feels to need help and be afraid to seek it. I remember feeling as if I would be judged by tutors and scared to visit the University's writing center. I also remember some sleepless nights editing and revising my work myself to try and get a better grade. After struggling myself and finally getting the help I needed, I am motivated to teach my students how to avoid the common obstacles of writing. I want to give my students a learning experience that was easier than my own. I offer a judgment-free environment for my students to flourish. Writing is a very personal, sometimes spiritual experience. My job is to guide you to find your voice and apply your style to everything you write. I believe in using my experience combined with your ideas to help you perfect your writing skills.I have worked as a professional tutor for Texas A&M University, Texarkana. While there, I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in English. Writing is my favorite subject to tutor; however, I also tutor in the other parts of English, including reading comprehension, editing, literature, grammar, mechanics, and literary analysis. My enjoyment of the English language flows into my personal life as well. I enjoy writing in my spare time. I also enjoy reading, video games, movies, TV shows, and anime. I analyze each of these and apply the knowledge I gain to my lesson plans. I look forward to meeting you and sharing a love of the English language.
